Welcome to Shaggy Shears Pet Salon and Feline Sophisticat.  My name is Terry and I am the owner and groomer at Shaggy Shears.  Are you looking for a low stress pet grooming experience for your furry kid?  Are  you tired of dropping off your furry kids early in the morning, and wonder why it has been 5 or 6 hours and you're still waiting for your pick up call?  This has been my experience with pet grooming in the past.  I'd go in and drop off early, thinking this was my appointment time only to find out several other dogs were being dropped off at the same time.  They are immediately put in cages or kennels and will be groomed based on who has requested to pick up their pet first.  It's hard to say how long your pet may be waiting in a cage/kennel prior to starting their grooming. 

Let us offer an alternative to your pets grooming experience.  An alternative that leads to a low stress grooming environment, and an express groom every time, at NO additional charge.  Your appointment is for your pet and every groom experience is individualized, based on size of pet, groom services selected, and pet personality.  We strive to ensure your pet has a pleasant grooming experience at Shaggy Shears. We also offer Mobile service (an additional fee may be charged), for small to medium pets who are looking to be bathed and/or have light trims.  Full grooms, which would likely include clippering and scissoring would need to come to the shop unless special circumstances apply.

Our past grooming experiences at both National and Independent Grooming Salons, led me to seek what I believe is a better alternative to pet grooming.  I enrolled in 2 schools and after months of training I am now a professional pet groomer.  I  love what I do and will work hard to earn your trust and loyalty.  Your pets are our priority.  We do not kennel your pets, providing they are not a threat to themselves, the groomers or others.  We also do not use cage dryers.  Your furry kids will not be left alone under any circumstances.  We understand your pets are family members.  It is our responsibility to ensure your pet is provided a safe, friendly, clean and pleasant grooming environment.  We have very high standards and encourage you to stop in and check us out.

We have 3 basic groom packages for dogs and we also groom cats.  Our prices are competitive and our shop is clean.

Our family includes, 2 Austrailian Shepherds, Jax and Ellie, a Beagle, Alice, (now called Daisy and adopted from the Fredericksburg, SPCA), and 2 cats, Minka and Rascal who were also adopted from the Fredericksburg, SPCA.  Minka and Rascal may be at the shop on any given day.
